Seen and Heard Exhibit: Opening Night
Indie Grits Labs and WREN will open Seen and Heard, a free exhibition at Tapp’s Arts Center (1644 Main St.), featuring photography and portraiture by a diverse group of women, gender minorities, and girls from across the Midlands region on February 1st through February 22nd, 2018.
This dynamic exhibit created in partnership with Indie Grits Labs is the premiere event in a series of eight unique gallery openings across our region—featuring portraits by photographer Steffi Brink, video installations by Mahkia Greene, and 80 pieces from 40 new, local artists. Through Seen and Heard, photography has been used as a means of expressing the opportunities and barriers faced by our community.
Exhibition art will be supported by captions available in both English and Spanish, video interviews with the artists, and audience members will have the opportunity to respond through a video storytelling booth. Opening night on February 1 will include a free reception with light refreshments beginning at 5:30 p.m., with an artist panel beginning at 6:30 p.m.
We can’t wait to see you there! For more information about the project, visit the website at Seen & Heard.
